[ shoyo is ready to focus a little more on the project at hand: making . . . crowns. he's not at all adept in them; most of his chose rose buds keep falling due to snipping them to short to weave, but there's nothing better than a bit of tape to keep things together. with his tongue sticking out and his ears flicking up and down during his concentration, shoyo finally bounces onto his hooves to present . . . ]

[ Kageyama is not a fan of flower crown making and he's not done with the one he'd been halfheartedly working on when Hinata sets the rose crown on his head. The first hint that something is different might be the fact that he didn't instantly tell Hinata not to call him that.
The second might be the way he sort of just stares at Hinata with soft eyes. In truth, it might not be all that different from some of the looks Kageyama sets on Hinata when the other isn't paying attention. After all for him that crown isn't creating new feelings but pushing real ones to the surface. ]

what did he just hear? shoyo’s ears flop up and down, with him making sure there’s nothing inside them to blocking the space he had to listen. his hearing is pretty good, though. should be, at least. ]

[ does he have a fever? shoyo lifts a hand to pap kageyama’s temples. ]
[ Kageyama reaches out and touches Hinata's ears. Pets them, really. He's been wanting to do that. His cheeks are pink with a light blush, one that gets deeper when Hinata touches his forehead. ]
Everything's fine.
[ He's definitely not sick. He pets the ear again. ]
[ this is………… kind of weird. really weird. he’s not even grinding his hand into his skull, he’s petting his ears. petting. it’s soft and affectionate and.
makes shoyo turn beet red. now he’s feeling it. not exactly embarrassment, but . . . that’s only been a daydream. was he dreaming? was he the one running a fever? shoyo checks himself, but can’t exactly tell if his own temperature is off.
wait. wait wait wait wait wait. his heart is pounding in his ears!! kageyama’s red as an apple! he’s becoming . . . highly aware of what eren asked.

O . . . Okay? [ where’d. this come from? ] You’re . . . Awesome, too!
[ but kageyama already knew that. it wasn’t the first time shoyo’s openly said so. ]
[ ow! yeow!! but shoyo doesn’t make a huge effort to get away— his cheeks are madly squishable, to boot. that gives him some time to just look up, and….. stare, if not quite fondly. confused? weirded out? maybe all of that in between. ]
You don’t usually say that stuff, though.
[ he’s pretty red around the face, and finally bats the other boy’s hand away. ]
[At some point Cater will hunt Kageyama down so he can hand him a mug that appears to be hand-molded and fired from the local pottery shop. It has the etching TEARS OF THE PEOPLE I BEAT AT VOLLEYBALL on it. There's also a bag of some manner of tasty treat sitting inside.
[ Kageyama doesn’t get a lot of messages and so he’s never had to think about needing to put his phone on silent. He wasn’t really sleeping all that well anyway when it beeps. ]
